Just thoughts

Photo by (and copywrite) Greg Laychak.

It is a long hall we walk,

Reflections of decisions

Hung in windows,

Rain-spattered and sun struck

The stains of time rolling down

Like tears, never wept

In the dawning

When other voices rang

Rhythm, rhyme, reduced

Where they set us yet to roam.

Everything is painted now—

Just thoughts.

  1. Your poetic focus on the surface of the window is very telling and fits wonderfully as a distraction amid a welter of voices. Great work, Chris (on interview too). Artful and suggestive lines.

  2. Great interview Chris. Very illuminating as is your poem. I, too, like that you found the metaphorical surfaces as I sought to plumb the depths of old resentments. Excellent subject. Thank you.

  3. Rain-spattered and sun struck

The stains of time rolling down

    Like tears, never wept

Powerful words… seeing stains of yesteryear left untold, hiding within the dreary halls.
