Like a Rock

I would rest my faith against your breast

but human pace is never still

you’d bear me out into the glass

shattering with smiles and discontent

solitude’s press, its lonely words

–straight like a rock, to malcontent.

      • No, no, simply was offering up a poetic counterpoint. It’s not cruelty toward you, or some sort of poetry sneer–it’s observing the same title/topic, I suppose, through different eyes. They just happen to have a darker tint on my end (as things tend to).
