I’m waiting on a light
That may never arrive;
I’m grabbing at the stars
And catching only dust.
Every moment builds into
Another moment lost
And still I wait,
Humming in the night,
As though the world will shine on me
In my ceaseless indolence.
Dreams unravel
It is reality waiting
Not this fiction I have woven
Into this false world.
This is fantastic! I feel suspense but also disappointment. Some beautiful imagery. I love the line, ‘dreams unravel’. Is this a command or are your dreams unravelling? Great stuff!
What is sadder than to witness one’s dreams slip through their fingers? Thank you for the compliments!
What a blend of fiction and reality…how one melts itself into the other… a very beautiful poem..
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
